View this email in your browser Footpaths on the Common along side of Windmill Road to be closed for 3 weeks or more We have only just found out about this! The footpath that runs alongside Windmill Road, on the west side, is to be closed to the public for at least 3 weeks, the Manager of the Common tells us:- From Monday 2 November 2026, Thames Water will be replacing a major valve link to the 24 inch water main which burst a few months ago. The valve is located on the Common near the bend in Windmill Road. For the duration of the works, which is likely to be 22 days, the footpaths shaded red on the plan below will be closed to the public. Note that Thames Water only confirmed the works today. To give you an idea of where the work is to take place, it is on the other side of Windmill Road from where this old drinking fountain is, at the footpath that runs along the south side of the Talbot Close housing estate.
