| Dear Friends,
You can now help look after Mitcham Common every time you walk on it. We’ve set up a simple online form for reporting fly-tipping, fires, damage, motorbikes, kites, anti-social behaviour, injured wildlife and anything else that needs attention.
Report something on the Common: https://forms.gle/AsaBhwacmYsJ86WB8
The Mitcham Common Manager, and Warden have backed the scheme. The Friends check every report and pass on what matters, so the warden gets a clear picture without being swamped.
A few important points:
If it’s an emergency, such as a fire still burning or someone in danger, call 999 first.
Please don’t use FixMyStreet for anything on the Common. The land belongs to the Conservators, not Merton Council, so those reports get rejected.
Don’t approach or confront anyone. Just note what you see and leave if you feel unsafe.
Not sure if someone has already reported it? Send it anyway. Duplicates are fine.
The form has a list of subsite areas you can choose for the location, such as Seven Islands or Mill House. If you have what3words, there’s an option to give a closer location.
The form doesn’t require your name or email address, but you do need to be logged in to a Google account.
The form isn’t an app, it doesn’t need to be installed, just save the link on your phone so it’s there next time you’re out.
Thank you for being the Common’s eyes and ears.
